Not bad

If you're constantly moving between different folders in Windows, you'll have noticed that its native file explorer is a bit limited. This is why it's always a good idea to use plug-ins to improve its functionality.

Folder View is one of those plug-ins; a simple tool that makes working with Explorer easier and faster by adding shortcuts to your most frequently used folders in certain key locations such as the Explorer interface, the context menu and also the system tray.

These shortcuts can be customized with any folders you want, and are also automatically updated. This means that if you erase one of the folders that appear on the Folder View toolbar from your hard drive, the correspondent shortcut will also be erased.

I found Folder View to be very generally handy, but I had problems when trying to customize the toolbar: it's easy to add new shortcuts, but I really can't figure out how to remove them without actually deleting the folder they link to.

Folder View adds some extra handy shortcuts to Windows Explorer, so that file management in Windows is faster and easier.

Most computer users use one main location where they store most of their files: My Documents. Often, My Documents contains many sub-folders containing other sub-folders. This structure makes it quite a hassle to get to the right location when opening or saving files. But that's not all: most of the time, one or two often used folders are for technical reasons not located inside My Documents, but somewhere else. A network location with global company files, an MP3-folder on a different harddisk, or a removable drive. Reaching all these different folders takes a lot of time.

But not with Folder View. Because Folder View enhances Windows and the Windows file Explorer in four ways:

Folder View adds a toolbar to the Windows Explorer. With this toolbar, you can navigate to every folder you use often in a single click.

Folder View integrates with common Open/Save dialogs; giving you quick access to your folders from within almost all applications.

Quick Copy/Move

Folder View integrates with the right-click menus of files, allowing you to copy and move files and folders extremely quickly.

Tray Menu

Folder View puts an icon in your system tray (near the clock), from which you can quickly launch all folders you use often, using the same menu-structure as the toolbar.
